IBM 6299 Twisted Pair Hub The IBM 6299 Hub for Midrange Systems enables twinax displays and terminals to attach to the IBM AS/400, IBM System 36, IBM System 38 and IBM 5x94 Remote Controllers via unshielded twisted pair (UTP) wiring.  The IBM 6299 uses cheaper category 3, 4 and 5 cabling compared to traditional expensive twinax cabling.   The IBM 6299's star topology enables you to add, move and remove devices off the central 6299 hub without affecting other devices.   ****Can't make heads or tails of the IBM 6299?
